Greg Roberts of the Alexandria Young Democrats was kind enough to call me regarding the called-off debate between Rosenberg and Moran, which had been scheduled for March 13. Greg informed me of the following:
- Greg was unsure of to what extent the Moran camp had agreed to a debate on March 13. He suggested that Alexandria Young Democrats may have jumped the gun in announcing the debate.
- The Alexandria Young Democrats decided independently of the Moran camp to call off the debate because there was not enough time to prepare properly. Also, the June 8 election date is so far in the future that the public has not had time to get interested in a candidates debate.
- The debate has been postponed, not cancelled. Greg said that he intends to press both the Moran and Rosenberg camps to agree to their previous commitments to appear together at an Alexandria Young Democrats event.
