Byrne's Interest In Running Highlights The Competitive Nature Of The June 8 Primary WAMU-FM reported at around 9am this morning that former Arlington congresswoman Leslie Byrne is considering entering the June 8 Democratic primary for congressperson in the 8th District. She is also considering running for Virginia Attorney General. WAMU noted that Byrne had been active in the now-defunct Howard Dean presidential campaign in Virginia. It described the race as currently being between Andy Rosenberg and Jim Moran, and said that Moran was a target. Andy Rosenberg was the man with the vision to stay in the race even when the wonderful Kate Hanley was running. Leslie Byrne decided not to run at that time. Leslie Byrne lacked the vision of a Moran-free Virginia congressional delegation.
Hopefully, Leslie Byrne will avoid being like a girl who you ask to the prom, and who says no because she wants to go with someone else. Then she changes her mind, but it is too late. < | >

"[Cong. Parris is] a deceitful, fatuous jerk. . . .
I want to break his nose."
—James Moran in the Aug. 29, 1990 Washington Post, referring to his opponent. | |
