Award Was For His Now Withdrawn Legislation Banning Bear-Feeding In National Parks The Hill ran the following item in its 2/18/04 edition:
H.R. 1472: Seeks to prohibit the intentional feeding of bears on federal public lands Sponsors: Reps. Elton Gallegly (R-Calif.) and Jim Moran (D-Va.) Submitted: March 27, 2003 The Don’t Feed the Bears Act of 2003 was submitted to try to end the hunting practice known as “bear baiting.” Luring bears with food leads to a number of negative consequences, and, as such, this bill found 161 co-sponsors. But, curiously, the bill was withdrawn, but not before 26 members withdrew their support. Maybe they were convinced by the powerful bear lobby? Or like Big Oil and Big Tobacco before it, maybe “Big Bear” is stronger than we think." Judging by the way he looked at the Rosenberg/Moran candidates forum last Monday, maybe someone should stop feeding Moran. < | >

I want to break his nose."
