General Discussion Posted by Jonathan Mark on Sunday, February 08, 2004

As Of Last Filing, Jim Moran Had Raised Over $300K, Andy Rosenberg Was Competitive At About Half That Amount, Republican Lisa Marie Cheney Raised $40K

The website Opensecrets.org makes FEC funding reports available online. One can view fundraising totals and names of donors for current candidates in the Democratic primary and the Republican caucuses to choose congressional candidates.

(1) Go to http://www.opensecrets.org/indivs/index.asp.

(2) In the "Election cycle(s) to search" box enter the election cycle you are interested in. Data may not be complete for election years prior to 2002.

(3) In the Recipient field enter the name of the candidate you are interested in. For local candidates, enter the names "Moran, Jim", "Rosenberg, Andy" or "Cheney, Lisa Marie".

(4) Press the Search button at the bottom of the page.

Lisa Marie Cheney is a candidate in the Republican caucuses to choose a candidate for congress in the November general election. Her opponent Matt Mueda is not listed as having raised any money so far.

Opensecrets.org provides the following additional information:

"Federal law prohibits the use of contributor information for the purpose of soliciting contributions or for any commercial purpose. This database includes Federal Election Commission records of receipts from all individuals who contribute at least $200 (smaller contributions are not part of the public record). Bear in mind that contributions to politicians can also be made through Political Action Committees. "
