A June 8 Democratic congressional primary is now a virtual certainty

In perhaps the clearest evidence yet that there will be a Democratic congressional primary on June 8, Mason District Supervisor Penny Gross stated that:

    "In 2004, we will have the opportunity to vote several times, depending on one’s political persuasion. Virginia will participate in the Democratic Presidential Primary selection process next week on February 10, and there will most likely be a Democratic primary for the Eighth Congressional District in early June, with incumbent Congressman Jim Moran facing challenger Andy Rosenberg."

Meanwhile, the Falls Church City Council appears to have no compunctions about affording special exposure to the incumbent Moran that was not made available to the challenger Rosenberg. The Feb 5 online edition of the Falls Church News-Press reported that "A crowded Council agenda began with a one-hour exchange with U.S. Rep. Jim Moran..."
