Moran Also Came In Second In Competition For "Worst Politician," Losing Only To George W. Bush Washingtonian Magazine came out last July with their annual "Best and the Worst" issue for 2003. Topping the list for "The Worst Local Member of Congress" was Alexandria's own Jim Moran. Moran beat out Eleanor Holmes Norton and Tom Davis for the honor. Moran was also in the running for "Worst Politician." Due to Moran's lack of power and influence he unfortunately came in second to President George W. Bush. However, James Moran did manage to beat out Senator Hillary Clinton. For many, reading the name James Moran and Hillary Clinton in the same sentence brings back memories of 1998, when the ever lively Moran made unwanted remarks to First Lady Clinton about her marriage and actually discussed defending her honor by assaulting President Clinton. Moran was the only local politician to place in two separate categories, a stunning recognition by Washingtonian Magazine of the type of congressman that Jim Moran is. < | >

"[Cong. Parris is] a deceitful, fatuous jerk. . . .
I want to break his nose."
