Moran is only current Democrat in Congress to have appeared at opening of Council on American-Islamic Relations Office Whether it is Abdurahman Alamoudi, the SAAR Foundation or Randall Todd Royer, James Moran certainly has a history of receiving support from and showing support for militant Islamicist groups.
On 1/16/04 the former Council On American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) spokesperson Randall "Ismail" Royer pleaded guilty to charges of carrying and firing weapons as part of a plan to join an Islamicist terror group in Kashmir. The plea bargain contradicted Royer's previous claims that he and his friends were not preparing for jihad but rather were only playing innocent games of paintball in the woods. Here is what Worldnet Daily had to say in its 1/15/04 edition about Royer and his fellow CAIR staffpersons: "A number of CAIR leaders recently have encountered trouble with the law. In July, a member of CAIR's national staff, Randall Todd "Ismail" Royer, was among 11 men indicted for conspiring to train on American soil for a "violent jihad." Another CAIR figure, Bassem Khafagi, was arrested in January while serving as the group's director of community relations. Last December, Ghassan Elashi, the founder of CAIR's Texas chapter, was indicted for financial ties to Hamas leader Musa Abu Marzook. CAIR is a spin-off of the Islamic Association For Palestine, labeled a "front group" for the terrorist organization Hamas by two former heads of the FBI's counterterrorism section." It goes without saying that Moran was drawn to such a group like a fish to water. Here is CAIR press release from 6/14/2000 that announced Moran's appearance at a new office that CAIR had just opened. The facility was not in Moran's district. Why was he there at this opening? Only four other congressmen were there at the opening. Moran is the only Democrat currently in Congress who attended. Two of the four congressmen at the event, Tom Campbell of California and David Bonior of Michigan have since had to leave politics after losing elections. Voters reject politicians who pander to the supporters of terror. < | >

"[Cong. Parris is] a deceitful, fatuous jerk. . . .
I want to break his nose."
—James Moran in the Aug. 29, 1990 Washington Post, referring to his opponent. | |
