Jim Moran To Appear At 17th Annual Mount Vernon Town Meeting On Jan 31

Event Runs From 7:45 AM to 1 PM At Mount Vernon High School's Little Theatre At 8515 Old Mount Vernon Rd., Alexandria.

Town Meeting Set For Mount Vernon

The 17th annual Mount Vernon town meeting will take place Jan. 31 at Mount Vernon High School's Little Theatre.

County Board Chairman Gerald E. Connolly (D), Supervisor Gerald W. Hyland (D-Mount Vernon), Supervisor T. Dana Kauffman (D-Lee), County Executive Anthony H. Griffin, School Superintendent Daniel A. Domenech, School Board member Daniel G. Storck, U.S. Rep. James P. Moran Jr. (D-Va.), state Sen. Linda T. "Toddy" Puller (D-Fairfax) and state Del. Kristen J. Amundson (D-Fairfax) are scheduled to attend.

The meeting, from 7:45 a.m. to 1 p.m., will give Mount Vernon area residents an opportunity to meet their elected officials and express their views and concerns.

There will be more than 60 displays and exhibits, including a presentation of the Wilson Bridge project, and residents will be able to talk with representatives from the county's Park Authority, Animal Control Department and fire and police departments, as well as Volunteer Fairfax.

The school is at 8515 Old Mount Vernon Rd., Alexandria.
