Moran Claims To Have Secured $80,000 for Korean Group, Receives Award The National Review Online states the following about a call that Moran's ex-wife Mary made to the police three years ago: " — In June 2000, Moran's wife, Mary, called police to their home claiming the congressman pushed her. Moran told police he pushed her in self-defense when she came toward him, but Mrs. Moran disputed that. There was no evidence of assault, and charges weren't filed. They divorced shortly after the incident." There is therefore irony in the following claim that Moran now makes on his website:
"December 18 - Congressman Moran receives an award from the Korean Community Service Center (KCSC) of Greater Washington, Inc. in recognition for his work to prevent domestic violence. Last year, Congressman Moran secured $80,000 for KCSC so they could provide more services to prevent domestic violence in the Korean-American community." For years Moran has been claiming credit for any federal money spent or distributed in this district. The manner in which Moran claims to have influenced the distribution of these grants is never explained. < | >
