"you know that something's happening but you don't know what it is." — Bob Dylan PakNews.com on 12/9/03 wrote about a new scholarship program called the Pakistan Fund. What is of interest is that Moran was the only congressman at a recent Pakistan Fund event in DC. At the event the Pakistani ambassador stated that a purpose of the Fund was to counter Indian influence. "WASHINGTON, USA: Dec 09 (PNS) - The School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) at John Hopkins University held a fundraiser for the newly established Pakistan Fund- launched to support high educational pursuits for Pakistani students. It will help support fellowships, internships, research and conferences and visiting fellows. At the successful event Sunday, a large number of students, academicians, professionals, businessmen, faculty and administration of the SAIS attended, besides Pakistan Ambassador Ashraf Jehangir Qazi and Congressman Congressman Jim Moran, a Democrat. " The article goes on to describe Pakistan Ambassador Qazi's remarks as follows: "'...This is very important because South Asia is dominated by such a huge Indian presence that it tends to eclipse the voice of the other countries of the sub-continent -even though these countries are very significant countries like Pakistan.' He said 'it is because, we don't have adequate number of Scholars on Pakistan in the media, in academia, in think tanks, on the staff of important places, like the Hill or White House, where Indian presence is quite strong--so the Pakistani voice tends to get edged out.'"

I want to break his nose."
