It had been hoped that Kate would defeat Moran, but she dropped out. WRC-TV (Channel 4) notes that today is the last time that Kate Hanley will attend a meeting of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors as its chairperson. Channel 4 notes: "Hanley decided not to seek re-election to the board this year. She decided to challenge Jim Moran for his congressional seat, instead.
But, she dropped out of that race last month. She said she wanted to spend more time with her family." < | >
