And that's not even mentioning Moran's Saudi funding through the SAAR foundation Subject: From today's Washington Post From: Jerome_Chapman Date: Wed, 3 Dec 2003 10:29:19 -0500
I just wanted to be sure you saw this correction, below. Jim Moran only alters his course (and even then only temporarily) when he feels the heat of political opposition. [Note: The ONLY vote he has cast in recent years that is contrary to the position of anti-Israel lobbyists -- voting with 99% of the House in favor of the Syria Accountability Act -- came shortly after the 3d Quarter FEC reports showed that opposition Democratic
candidates had raised more money than he had in that quarter.] Polls show that Moran is vulnerable and that he is viewed unfavorably by most voters in his district. If Jim Moran thinks he will get a free pass in 2004 (a) he's wrong and (b) the constraints on his behavior are loosened. We must keep up the pressure in the current election cycle.

"[Cong. Parris is] a deceitful, fatuous jerk. . . .
I want to break his nose."
—James Moran in the Aug. 29, 1990 Washington Post, referring to his opponent. | |
