Jewish Newspaper The Forward Critiques Howard Dean's Alliance With James Moran
His Enablers Posted by Jonathan Mark on Saturday, November 22, 2003
Moran-non-grata
The national Jewish newspaper The Forward has blasted Howard Dean's alliance with James Moran in an 11/19/03 piece entitled "Moran's Man." The national Jewish newspaper the Forward notes that:

"The congressman has been sticking close to the candidate: He has appeared at three recent events with Dean, including one sponsored by the Asian American Action Fund, according to NBC's Schein. Dean might want to return the booby prize of a Moran endorsement, however. Moran is known among some as "Congressman Moron" for his remark last March that the Jewish community pushed the United States into the Iraq war. The brouhaha over Moran's comment has spurred at least two Democrats to mount primary challenges against him; it is an open secret that many of his Democratic colleagues would like to throw the loudmouth lawmaker off the sled."

Dean is one of the few politicians to have accepted an endorsement from Moran this year.

Moran (!) Warns Dean To Be Careful About What Dean Says
by Jonathan Mark on Sunday November 23, @08:20AM
The 11/23 Hartford Courant states the following re Moran and Dean:

"This up-from-the-ground enthusiasm is obvious all over the country, yet there are some very real threats to Dean's candidacy. Like his mouth.

'Sure he can be stopped,' said Rep. James Moran, D-Va., a Dean backer. 'But he has to do it himself.'"

It is certainly ironic that Moran would advise a politician who is far more successful than Moran with respect to watching what one says. Moran clearly preaches a virtue better than he practices it.

    From the 11/23 Post:

"Kerry has gotten the backing of Del. Brian J. Moran of Alexandria, who chairs the House Democratic Caucus, as well as Lawrence H. Framme III, who quit his post as chairman of the state party to work for the campaign. Lt. Gov. Timothy M. Kaine, the likely Democratic nominee for governor in 2005, has endorsed Lieberman, while Rep. James P. Moran Jr. (D-Va.), who initially favored Lieberman, has switched his allegiance to Dean."

I very much doubt that James Moran ever favored pro-Iraq war supporter and "Jewish leader" Lieberman. His claim to have been a Lieberman supporter for 2004 is just one more example of James Moran's deceitful nature.
